I played as far as the Loud Fields Boss. I'm not too familiar with roguelikes, but the variety of characters keeps things interesting during the course of a runs. Favourites included Irohai, Boon and Flegmin. I don't know if the current graphics are placeholders, but there's some nice attack animations mixed in there too.
A few critiques: I found the artefact that made enemies drop grenades on death more annoying than useful, but perhaps it's meant to be a "negative" effect; some of the more abstract enemy designs are hard to read, particularly when they cluster together, or move across the void; ranged characters/abilities seemed much stronger than melee, since the game puts emphasis on kiting and stunlocking.
Still, I had fun for the hour or so I played it. Keep it up dude.
Thank you for playing!
Yep, purple artifacts are anomalous and they are supposed to have a negative effect (which can be sometimes helpful though) Grenade is one of them, it's definitely annoying but some other anomalies can be even more harmful. There are some ways to prevent getting them to not ruin your current run.
It's an actual issue, I still trying to make this game to be as "legible" as possible.
This is right and one of the most frequent note by players. Due to game's strange balance, ranged ones are dominating during early-game, yet in the end of the game they start to lose their efficiency and melee ones becoming more essential.
Most of graphics are still WiP and some of them will be reworked with new updates. Animations which look decent could be already reworked ones
By the way, I highly appreciate your feedback and I'm glad that you had fun with this game! Also good luck to your own project!
I didn't know you made another game besides Overdo and I must say I enjoy this one a lot. The variety of masks makes the game feel fresh and the abilities of bosses make the game make the game a fun time to enjoy. Some masks even if they are the same rarity are better than others of course but that's to be expected. Overall its a fun game that is worth the try if you are interested in a game with swarms of foes and plenty of classes.
Boss Spoiler Below
One problem i've had so far throughout my time playing is I don't know how to beat the Owl (Crow?) Boss I can see that he takes damage when he enters the void but other than that I see its almost impossible to attack him
Thanks for playing and leaving a comment!
I'm planning to remaster my older project so its development is frozen during the development of FrFa.
Rarity doesn't correspond to the raw power of character though, it's more about how versatile the character is.
Lieden's mask is supposed to represent a harpy eagle.
Lieden is vulnerable to AoE, homing, target or multishot attacks, yet melee attacks and non-homing projectiles are useless against him for now.
Currently he's too hard to beat so don't bother to defeat him, this boss fight is just placeholder and it will be completely redone in next versions.
